The company
A farming company in Haut-Katanga.
Bazano Farming is an agricultural company based in Haut-Katanga, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We grow maize on two farms, at Likasi and Kasenga, and raise a herd of cattle at Kasenga. We produce maize meal, cattle feed and poultry feed, cattle and vegetables.
Our approach is resolutely modern: precision farming, advanced herd management and leading-edge digital tools, driven by a committed team. From preparing the land to dispatching the harvest, we hold ourselves to the same standard season after season: to produce in Congo, carefully and consistently.

What we do.
Harvest and bagging
At harvest, the yield of every block is measured. The maize is then packed in 25 kg bags and dispatched from our farms.
Advanced herd management
At Kasenga, every animal carries an electronic ear tag and goes over the scale regularly. Weights, growth and movements feed a herd register that is kept up to date continuously.
Technology
Technology first.
We built our own farm management system. It connects the fields, the herd, the stores and the accounts, and runs on tablets, right in the field.

Input programmes block by block, centre-pivot irrigation, every operation logged with its machine and date: each decision rests on data.

Connected herd
Electronic identification, weighing on an electronic scale, a continuous stock take of the herd and automatic alerts at the first discrepancy.

Traceable stock
Every unit in store carries a QR code. Inputs and harvests are tracked at every movement, from receipt to dispatch.

Real-time management
What is captured in the field is available at once: costs, stocks and the progress of the season are followed day by day.
